Solar technician

Key Responsibilities: Install solar PV systems according to engineering plans, diagrams, and electrical standards. Assemble solar modules, panels, or support structures, ensuring proper grounding and connections. Conduct electrical wiring of solar systems, including inverters, batteries, and grid connections. Perform troubleshooting and repairs for solar power systems. Test and commission installed systems to ensure proper functionality and compliance with local electrical codes. Use appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) to ensure all safety protocols are followed. Work collaboratively with other team members such as structural engineers and solar designers. Perform routine maintenance and monitoring of installed systems. Qualifications: Diploma in Electrical Engineering or relevant field (required). Certification in solar PV installation (preferred). Valid electrician’s license or certification (preferred). 2+ years of experience in electrical or solar system installations (preferred). Skills: Strong understanding of electrical systems, circuits, and solar PV technology. Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, wiring diagrams, and electrical schematics. Proficient in the use of electrical testing and diagnostic tools. Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail. Ability to work at heights and outdoors in various weather conditions. Physical Requirements: Ability to lift heavy equipment and work in physically demanding environments. Comfortable working on rooftops and elevated structures.
