Summary Objective
The purpose of this position is to manage waste collection, bulk waste collection, solid waste enforcement, recycling, street cleaning, solid waste education services, snow removal operations, and clean program initiatives.
This class works independently, under limited supervision, reporting major activities through periodic meetings.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
The essential functions listed below are those that represent the majority of the time spent working in this class. Management may assign additional functions related to the type of work of the class as necessary.
Supervises, directs, and evaluates assigned staff, processing employee concerns and problems, directing work, counseling, disciplining, and completing employee performance appraisals.
Coordinates, assigns and reviews work and establishes work schedules; maintains standards; monitors status of work in progress; inspects completed work assignments; answers questions; gives advice and direction as needed.
MINIMUM EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
Bachelor’s Degree in Environmental Science, Engineering, Natural Science, Biology or related discipline.
Four (4) years of solid waste, environmental, or recycling experience, including two years of supervisory experience or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.
