Sourcing Manager - Purchasing

Overview

This role will lead supplier strategy activities, support new product introduction, and manage day to day Purchasing operations at the GEMTEC Repair shop. Reporting directly to the Global Repair Purchasing Leader and GEMTEC Plant General Manager, this position plays a critical role in the Repair shop operation and growth.

Roles and Responsibilities
  • Strategy: Drive creation and execution of the plan to transform the shop sourcing team and supplier base into a high-quality, best cost and best lead time supply chain that leverages the Repair Network and Gas Power.
  • Quality: Work with the quality team and SQEs to solve supplier quality issues and drive recovery plans.
  • Material and Service Fulfillment: Monitor supplier base performance and oversee red/yellow flag processes, partnering with the material and production teams to prioritize, prevent, and/or solve production material issues.
  • Lead time reduction: Collaborate with material and production teams to implement make-to-stock or consignment and other initiatives to improve delivery and lead times to support on-time shop delivery.
  • Cost reduction: Work with the shop and engineering teams to implement savings projects and develop alternative suppliers and materials to achieve cost targets.
  • Payment on time: Negotiate payment terms with vendors to support the company cash position and resolve AP issues to ensure on-time payments to suppliers.
  • Problem solving: Utilize sourcing expertise to manage complex supplier situations and identify improvement opportunities.
  • Team development: Train and coach buyers on policy and procedure and develop expertise.
  • Continuous improvement: Drive continual improvement of sourcing processes by utilizing Lean and daily management tools.
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent in supply chain, sourcing & buying-procurement experience.
  • Advanced experience in Sourcing & Buying-Procurement.
  • Demonstrated cross-cultural people and team leadership.
  • Understanding of end-to-end supply chain considerations and methods of driving continuous improvement.
  • Experience creating and working with negotiated agreements.
  • Experience managing a team.
  • Experience in a manufacturing environment.
Desired Characteristics
  • Strong communication and project management skills, with regular executive management interaction regarding sourcing activities and services.
  • KSA national preferred.
  • Fluent in Arabic.
  • Experience in Gas Turbine repair or Aviation-related MRO business.
  • Lean and Six Sigma certification.
