Sous Chef – Sheraton Springfield Hotel

We are seeking a dedicated and talented Sous Chef to oversee our two vibrant restaurants, MVP Pub and Picks Restaurant, while supporting the Executive Chef in managing the culinary team. Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist the Executive Chef in overseeing daily kitchen operations across MVP Pub and Picks Restaurant
  • Supervise and coordinate the activities of kitchen staff to ensure high-quality food preparation and presentation
  • Manage food safety, sanitation, and cleanliness standards in compliance with health regulations
  • Develop and implement menu items in collaboration with the culinary team, maintaining consistency and creativity
  • Monitor inventory levels, order supplies, and control food costs to maximize profitability
  • Train, mentor, and evaluate kitchen staff to foster a positive and productive work environment
  • Ensure timely and efficient service during peak hours, maintaining guest satisfaction
  • Assist in maintaining equipment and kitchen facilities to ensure safety and efficiency

Skills and Qualifications:

  • Proven experience as a Sous Chef or similar role in a high-volume restaurant or hotel setting
  • Strong knowledge of culinary techniques, food safety standards, and sanitation practices
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and team management skills
  • Ability to work under pressure and handle multiple priorities effectively
  • Creative mindset with a passion for culinary innovation
  • Flexibility to work various shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays
  • Culinary degree or equivalent professional training preferred
