Special Education Teacher

Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Special Education Teacher to join our educational team to provide_ In- home tutoring services._ The ideal candidate will have a strong commitment to fostering an inclusive learning environment for students with diverse needs. This role involves developing tailored educational programs, implementing effective teaching strategies, and collaborating with families and other professionals to support the academic and social development of students with disabilities.

Duties

• Develop and implement individualized education programs (IEPs) for students with special needs, ensuring compliance with legal requirements.
• Utilize various teaching methods and learning technologies to accommodate different learning styles and abilities.
• Manage classroom behavior effectively, creating a positive and supportive learning environment.
• Collaborate with speech therapists, occupational therapists, and other specialists to provide comprehensive support for students.
• Conduct assessments and standardized testing to monitor student progress and adjust instructional strategies accordingly.
• Provide early intervention services to support students in their developmental milestones.
• Engage in curriculum development that meets the unique needs of students, including literacy education and math instruction.
• Foster communication skills through tailored activities that enhance student interaction and engagement.
• Maintain accurate records of student performance, behavior, and progress in accordance with school policies.

Skills

• Strong management skills to maintain an effective learning environment in home
• Experience working with individuals on the autism spectrum and those with developmental disabilities.
• Proficiency in lesson planning that incorporates early childhood education principles.
• Knowledge of behavioral therapy techniques and behavior management strategies.
• Familiarity with IEP processes and special education regulations.
• Effective communication skills for collaborating with parents, staff, and external professionals.
• Background in childhood development, ensuring a holistic approach to education.
• Experience in preschool settings or private schools is a plus.
