Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Special Education Teacher to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in special education and a commitment to fostering an inclusive learning environment for students with diverse needs. This role requires effective classroom management, innovative lesson planning, and the ability to adapt teaching methods to meet the unique requirements of each student.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) tailored to each student's needs.
  • Utilize effective classroom management techniques to create a positive learning environment.
  • Design engaging curriculum and lesson plans that align with state standards and address the diverse learning styles of students.
  • Provide speech therapy and behavioral therapy as needed, ensuring students receive comprehensive support.
  • Collaborate with parents, caregivers, and other professionals to promote student progress and well-being.
  • Monitor student progress through standardized testing and assessments, adjusting instructional strategies accordingly.
  • Foster communication skills in students through targeted literacy education and early intervention strategies.
  • Support students with autism, developmental disabilities, and other special needs through personalized teaching approaches.
  • Engage in ongoing professional development to stay current with best practices in special education.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Special Education or related field; certification in special education is preferred.
  • Proven experience working with children in various educational settings, including preschool, daycare, or private schools.
  • Strong knowledge of childhood development principles and behavior management strategies.
  • Familiarity with learning technology and its application in the classroom setting.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, for effective collaboration with students, families, and colleagues.
  • Experience in curriculum development and lesson planning tailored for diverse learners.
  • Background in early childhood education or Montessori methods is a plus.

Job Types: Full-time, Contract

Pay: $45.00 - $48.00 per hour

Expected hours: 35 – 40 per week
