Elementary School Special Education Teacher

Pembroke Hill School is seeking a dedicated and skilled Special Education Teacher.

Required Qualifications + Skills:

• NH Certification as a Special Education Teacher
• Experience working with students with multiple diagnoses including, but not limited to intellectual impairment, autism, health impairments, traumatic brain injuries, etc.
• Experience and training in de-escalation/physical intervention strategies;
• Work as part of an interdisciplinary school team to ensure students’ needs are met;
• Work with nurse, SLP, OT, PT, and BCBA to develop and implement IEPs;
• Maintain an organized, safe and productive classroom in order for students to make adequate progress
• Consistent contact with families;
• Supervising paraprofessionals;
• Develop IEP goals that address individual student’s needs and reflect growth on progress reports.
• Have strong written and verbal communication skills
• Demonstrated ability to approach individuals in a creative and thoughtful manner
• Flexibility to meet identified student needs.
• A strong commitment to the goals, mission, and philosophy of the organization.
• Model respect, honesty, consideration, responsibility, and positive attitude with both peers and students
• Participate in staff meetings and in-service training as requested
• All other duties as assigned

Qualifications Profile:

NH Department of Education Certification as an Special Education Teacher

Education:

• Bachelors from an accredited college or university in Elementary Education or related discipline applicable to teaching assignment.
• Masters Degree in related area preferred.

Compensation: Per teacher contract, excellent benefits
