Overview
Join our dynamic team as a Special Education Teacher, where you will play a pivotal role in shaping the educational journey of students with diverse learning needs. You will create an inclusive and supportive classroom environment that fosters growth, independence, and confidence. Your expertise in special education will empower students to reach their full potential while collaborating with families and other educators to develop tailored learning experiences.

What you’ll do

  • Develop and implement individualized education programs (IEPs) that cater to the unique needs of each student.
  • Foster a positive classroom environment through effective classroom management strategies.
  • Utilize innovative teaching methods, including learning technology and curriculum development, to engage students in meaningful learning experiences.
  • Provide specialized instruction in areas such as literacy education, math, and behavioral therapy.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to assess student progress and adapt teaching strategies accordingly.
  • Support students with autism and other developmental disabilities through targeted interventions and early intervention techniques.
  • Maintain clear communication with parents, caregivers, and support staff regarding student progress and challenges.
  • Participate in ongoing professional development to stay current with best practices in special education.

Basic qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree.
  • Valid Special Education Teaching Credentials for the state of MA
  • Experience working with children in educational or childcare settings.

Preferred qualifications

  • Classroom experience with diverse learners, including preschool and early childhood education settings.
  • Knowledge of deaf education and experience working with individuals who are deaf or hard of hearing.
  • Familiarity with Montessori methods or private school experience is a plus.
  • Strong communication skills to effectively collaborate with students, families, and colleagues.

Job Types: Full-time, Contract

Pay: $40.00 - $50.00 per hour

Expected hours: 35 – 40 per week
