Job Summary
We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Special Education Teacher to inspire and support students with diverse learning needs. Duties
- Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) tailored to each student’s unique abilities and goals, ensuring compliance with educational standards and legal requirements.
- Design dynamic lesson plans that incorporate curriculum development principles, learning technology, and innovative teaching strategies to meet diverse learning styles.
- Manage classroom behavior effectively through positive behavior management techniques, creating a safe and supportive environment conducive to learning.
- Deliver instruction across multiple subjects such as literacy education, math, physical education, and social skills, adapting content for students with autism, developmental disabilities, or hearing impairments.
- Collaborate closely with speech therapists, behavioral therapists, and other specialists to support speech therapy goals, behavioral health needs, and early intervention strategies.
- Utilize standardized testing and assessment tools to monitor student progress, adjust instructional methods accordingly, and communicate outcomes clearly to parents and team members.
- Incorporate childhood development principles and Montessori or other educational philosophies where appropriate to enhance learning experiences for preschoolers and toddlers.
- Engage in lesson planning that includes activities for classroom management, child welfare, childcare practices, and preschool experience requirements.
- Support students’ social-emotional development by fostering positive interactions, teaching communication skills, and promoting inclusive behaviors.
- Maintain detailed records of student progress, IEP implementation steps, behavioral interventions, and classroom activities to ensure transparency and accountability.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Special Education or a related field; advanced certifications or licenses in special education are highly preferred.
- Proven classroom experience working with children with disabilities such as autism spectrum disorder (ASD), hearing impairments (deaf education), or developmental delays.
- Strong classroom management skills combined with the ability to adapt lessons for diverse learners using innovative curriculum development methods.
- Experience working with students requiring speech therapy or behavioral therapy interventions; familiarity with IEP processes is essential.
- Knowledge of childhood development stages as well as early childhood education practices including toddler care and preschool experience.
- Proficiency in learning technology tools used for instruction and assessment purposes; experience integrating digital resources into lesson plans is advantageous.
- Excellent communication skills for collaborating effectively with colleagues, parents, caregivers, and specialists involved in student care.

Pay: $54.11 - $60.00 per hour
