At HTD, we are seeking dedicated Virtual Special Education Teachers who are committed to creating engaging, student-centered learning experiences. Our teachers go beyond academics—they foster relationships, adapt instruction to student interests, and create safe and supportive learning environments where every student can thrive.

What You’ll Do:

1. Plan & Deliver Engaging Instruction

  • Develop and adapt lesson plans that align with IEP goals and student needs.
  • Use differentiated instruction and hands-on learning to engage students.
  • Integrate technology and assistive tools to enhance learning.

2. Assess & Support Student Growth

  • Conduct academic and social-emotional assessments to track progress.
  • Use data to adjust instruction and interventions as needed.
  • Regularly communicate progress with students, parents, and teams.

3. Create a Positive Learning Environment

  • Implement behavioral strategies that promote engagement and self-regulation.
  • Foster social skills development and emotional well-being.
  • Collaborate with behavior specialists and school counselors for student success.

4. Collaborate & Communicate Effectively

  • Work closely with general education teachers, therapists, and families.
  • Participate in IEP meetings, parent conferences, and team discussions.
  • Maintain clear, professional communication with all stakeholders.

5. Grow & Innovate in Your Practice

  • Engage in ongoing professional development and learning.
  • Stay informed on the latest in special education and instructional strategies.
  • Reflect on and improve teaching strategies based on student outcomes.

Requirements:

Illinois Type 10 Teaching Certificate (Required)

Experience working with students with disabilities

Strong communication and instructional skills

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $75,000.00 - $85,000.00 per year
