Special Education Teacher/Director K-8 Charter School

Job Overview
We are seeking a Special Education Teacher/Director to lead and manage our K-8 Charter School’s special education program. This role involves overseeing special education services, collaborating with staff and families, and ensuring compliance with educational standards and regulations. Responsibilities

• Develop, implement, and oversee individualized education programs (IEPs)
• Provide direct instruction in core subjects such as reading, literacy education, math, and social skills while adapting lessons for diverse learners.
• Collaborate with general education teachers to modify curricula and facilitate inclusive classroom strategies.
• Supervise and mentor teaching staff, providing guidance on classroom management, lesson planning, and working with children with disabilities.
• Ensure compliance with state and federal regulations regarding special education services.

Requirements

• Valid teaching certification in special education for K-8 students
• Excellent communication skills for collaborating with staff, families, therapists, and community partners.
• Ability to lead a team effectively while fostering an inclusive environment that supports behavioral health and developmental needs of students.

Job Types: Part-time, Contract

Pay: $35.00 - $45.00 per hour

Expected hours: 16 – 20 per week
