The Endocrinologist is responsible for providing high-quality, specialized medical care to patients with hormonal and metabolic disorders, in accordance with the approved delineation of privileges and the standards set by the Credentials Committee. The role involves outpatient and inpatient care, diagnostic procedures, emergency coverage, and contribution to quality improvement activities.
Key ResponsibilitiesClinical Responsibilities
- Perform all professional duties in alignment with the approved privileges and institutional policies.
- Provide comprehensive care in the Endocrinology Clinic, including assessment, diagnosis, and management of patients with hormonal disorders.
- Offer after-hours on-call emergency coverage for endocrinology-related emergencies.
- Conduct endocrinal procedures, including dynamic hormonal testing for appropriate patients.
- Provide consultation and referral services to inpatient units within the scope of expertise.
- Manage the full patient care process-from initial consultation to diagnosis, treatment planning, and follow-up.
Teaching & Supervisory Responsibilities
- Supervise, guide, and educate staff nurses, technicians, and other allied health personnel.
- Provide health education and counseling to patients and their families as needed.
Quality & Compliance Responsibilities
- Actively participate in quality assurance programs, including mortality and morbidity meetings, peer reviews, audits, and chart reviews.
- Maintain strict confidentiality and adhere to medical ethics, hospital bylaws, rules, and regulations.
- Ensure compliance with all clinical governance standards.
Qualifications & Experience
Education
- Graduation from an approved and recognized Medical School.
- One (1) year Rotating Internship.
- Three (3) years Residency in Internal Medicine.
- Three (3) years Residency/Fellowship training in a recognized Endocrinology program.
Licensing
- Valid license as a Specialist Endocrinologist in the country of origin.
Experience
- Minimum of three (3) years of clinical practice in Endocrinology/Hormonal Disorders post-specialization.
- Excellent command of written and spoken English; Arabic is an advantage but not mandatory.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills for effective interaction with colleagues, supervisors, patients, and families.
- High ethical standards, professionalism, and ability to maintain confidentiality.
- A patient-centered approach that promotes trust and confidence.
