The Royal Caribbean Group’s Corporate Communications Team has an exciting career opportunity for a full time Corporate Communications Specialist reporting to the Senior Manager Corporate Communications


The position is onsite and based in Miami Florida


The position is also not eligible for work authorization sponsorship


Position Summary:


The Corporate Communications Specialist position sits within the Royal Caribbean Group Corporate Communications department supporting the External Communications team The candidate is a detail-oriented communications and public relations professional who has experience in media relations is well-versed in editorial measurement and able to identify or establish connections between tactics and results through data analytics

The work will include both developing pitches and analyzing reports results and measurement of earned media placements This person will report directly to the Senior Manager Corporate Communications and work closely with the team to help inform strategy understand results and offer guidance The candidate will also develop and distribute reports to offer real-time news updates and insights The ideal candidate has a passion for applying data to inform ideas learning from peers developing story ideas and working with journalists


Essential Duties and Key Competencies:


  • Apply media relations writing and storytelling expertise to craft high quality materials compelling pitches and clear analytical reports

  • Lead media monitoring and social listening to identify trends and narratives relevant to Royal Caribbean Group and its global brands

  • Create maintain and analyze reports and dashboards for real-time monitoring of ongoing communications projects workstreams and corporate initiatives

  • Develop and maintain media logs pull clips and summarize findings highlighting key themes and opportunities

  • Produce and distribute daily and weekly internal updates including morning news digests industry briefs and department reports

  • Collaborate across the organization and with agency partners sharing insights socializing ideas and supporting joint initiatives by providing research and gathering information

  • Demonstrate agility curiosity and strong project management balancing multiple assignments adapting as needed to accommodate the situation and supporting off-hours and weekend monitoring as needed


Qualifications Knowledge & Skills:


  • Bachelor's degree in journalism Communications Public Relations or in a liberal arts field with emphasis in writing

  • Exceptional writing abilities and the capacity to meet tight deadlines

  • 2+ years communications and/or insights experience in corporate government and/or brand communications public relations agency or issues management

  • 1+ year of direct experience in communications measurement and reporting

  • 1+ year experience in a PR or communications agency either in an internship or full-time capacity

  • Proven track record of measurement reporting and insights that have helped shape communications strategies/tactics/campaigns

  • Proven track record of supporting proactive and reactive media relations initiatives

  • Experience with media monitoring platforms such as Cision Meltwater Brandwatch etc is a plus

  • Eagerness and desire to learn

  • Highly detail-oriented with strong organizational skills and ability to manage competing deadlines

  • Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to deal effectively with people at all levels of the organization

  • Ability to manage multiple and constantly changing priorities and work under pressure

  • Experience maintaining and quantifying communications results

  • Proactive and takes initiative

  • Functions effectively both independently and as a member of a highly collaborative team

  • General knowledge of and interest in the travel and hospitality and leisure industries is a plus
