Specialist Marine Logistics Engineer Office Fabrication Yard

Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates

We are seeking an experienced Specialist Marine Logistics Engineer to manage and coordinate marine transportation, loadout, and offshore installation support activities for major oil and gas projects.

The role involves working closely with fabrication yards, vessel operators, project engineers, and offshore teams to ensure the safe, efficient, and timely delivery of modules, structures, and equipment.

This role is office/fabrication yard-based with a requirement for offshore support during key phases of execution.

Key Responsibilities
  • Plan and manage all marine logistics activities related to project execution, including transportation of structures, modules, and materials to offshore sites.
  • Oversee load-out, sea fastening, and transportation engineering at fabrication yards.
  • Coordinate vessel mobilization/demobilization and ensure vessel compliance with project and international marine standards.
  • Collaborate with project teams, marine warranty surveyors (MWS), HSE, and logistics personnel to ensure safe operations.
  • Prepare and review transportation and installation procedures, method statements, and marine logistics plans.
  • Support offshore installation campaigns as required, acting as the interface between onshore and offshore teams.
  • Conduct site visits to fabrication yards and ports to supervise logistics and loadout activities.
  • Ensure compliance with project schedules, marine regulations, and client specifications.
  • Manage subcontractors and vendors involved in marine transport and heavy lift operations.
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in marine engineering, Naval Architecture, Mechanical Engineering, or related field.
  • 15+ years of oil and gas experience, with significant exposure to marine logistics and offshore operations.
  • Strong understanding of barge/vessel selection, marine spread planning, towing routes, and sea fastening requirements.
  • Experience working in fabrication yards and managing loadout operations.
  • Familiarity with offshore structures (topsides, jackets, subsea equipment, etc.)
  • Knowledge of relevant codes and standards (OCIMF, IMCA, DNV, ABS, API, etc.)
  • Strong understanding of HSE standards related to marine logistics.
