Specialist - Pediatric Cardiac Surgery

JOB SUMMARY

The Specialist – Cardiac Surgery within the Division, is a Board Eligible/Certified physician with clinical training in cardiac surgery. Under supervision of the Attending Physicians, the S pecialist provides family-centered medical care services to our pediatric and congenital cardiac patients [This includes seeing patients in clinic oand on the ward, participating in the programming of interventions, providing direct care to pre and post operative patients as well as participating in the operating room directly to the surgeries. It also includes coverage of nights and weekend on call and support as necessary due to clinical activity].

The Specialist is a health care professional and patient advocate. Additional involvement in academic and quality improvement projects is encouraged and required. Such activities include but are not restricted to participation in Nursing and Allied Health education, Resident and Fellow training, contribution to ongoing clinical research projects and/or the development of divisional guidelines or involvement in divisional multidisciplinary quality improvement projects.
