Specialty Court Case Manager

We are hiring a full-time Case Manager in Salt Lake City, Utah!!

The Specialty Court Case Manager serves clients who are homeless or at risk of homelessness and have legal involvement with specialty courts (FDC, FRC, MHC, ISP, DORA etc) that are ordered to complete substance use treatment services at First Step House. This position involves both direct and indirect services including needs assessments, individual service plans, tracking treatment progress, and connecting clients with a range of resources (e.g., housing, education, employment and medical). The Specialty Court Case Manager communicates and coordinates with various legal entities/specialty courts and is responsible for submitting treatment progress reports on a weekly basis. As Specialty Court Case Manager, they will advocate for clients and communicate their progress in treatment in court settings. They will work to maintain a positive relationship between First Step House and the various drug courts & supervision programs and ensure requirements with these programs are being fulfilled as outlined. The Specialty Court Case Manager assists in other administrative tasks as needed and works in concert with the priorities of the Executive Director, the Senior Management Team, and the Board of Directors. The overall goals of this position are to (a) provide high quality case management services for specialty court clients, (b) communicate treatment progress to specialty courts and (c) serve as the liaison for First Step House and the specialty courts.

Pay Rate $46,353.60 per year

Flexible schedule: Monday – Thursday or Tuesday – Friday | 9-hour shifts

Education and Experience:

  • Criminal justice experience is required
  • A minimum of a bachelor's degree in social work or related field is preferred
  • Case management experience is preferred
  • Experience in the substance-abuse field is preferred

Duties include but not limited to:

  • Attends court to report on client progress in treatment
  • Monitors client program adherence, drug-test results, and group attendance
  • Gathers and sends court reports to various legal entities
  • Coordinates meetings between legal entities and staff
  • Keeps record of all incoming clients that have court involvement to coordinate communication with their legal agencies
  • Collaborate with counselors, case workers, and outside agencies to deliver court liaison & advocate services
  • Meets regularly with referred clients that are court involved to review their legal cases
  • Collaborates with case management and clinical teams to connect clients with employment services, education resources, healthcare programs, housing programs, and other relevant community resources
  • Assists the case management team in providing and coordinating services for clients
  • Uses an internal tracking system to ensure proper, accurate, and timely billing
