About the Role

We are seeking a highly creative and technically skilled Lighting Specification & Design Consultant to join our dynamic retail team. In this role, you will be responsible for delivering bespoke lighting design solutions tailored to client needs, while supporting our sales team through detailed specification work and design expertise. Your work will span the full project lifecycle from initial concept design and luminaire selection to lux level calculations, 3D visualizations, and BOQs. You'll collaborate closely with retail clients, delivering engaging presentations, generating professional proposals, and ensuring each solution meets design intent, technical requirements, and budget. This is a hands on, client facing role that blends design excellence with technical proficiency and commercial awareness. Your insights will also contribute to product development and keep us ahead of lighting trends and innovations.

About You

You are a passionate lighting design professional with a strong eye for aesthetics and functionality, backed by solid technical knowledge of lighting systems, controls, and integration (e.g., dimming, GRMS). You are proficient in design tools like DIALux, Relux, AutoCAD, Revit, and SketchUp, and you thrive in a fast paced environment where creative vision must align with real world constraints. You bring 3 5 years of experience in lighting design or specification, ideally within a retail or showroom context, and have a firm grasp of BOQs, product selection, and multi brand specifications. With excellent communication and presentation skills, you're confident engaging directly with clients and guiding them through the design process. A degree or diploma in Lighting Design, Architecture, Interior Design, or Electrical Engineering rounds out your profile, along with a proactive mindset and a drive to deliver exceptional customer experiences through lighting.
