Speech Therapist with DOH License or DHA with eligibility
Main Duties & Responsibilities
1. Assessment & Diagnosis
- Conduct eligibility recommendations for students in school settings as needed.
- Perform comprehensive assessments using standardized and/or criterion-referenced tools to evaluate speech, language, voice, fluency, and swallowing.
- Establish language-based diagnoses or collaborate with the medical team to identify underlying conditions.
- Write detailed reports including assessments, intervention plans, and progress summaries.
2. Treatment Planning & Intervention
- Develop individualized, goal-oriented treatment plans based on assessment outcomes.
- Implement evidence-based therapeutic interventions targeting speech, language, voice, fluency, and swallowing.
- Regularly monitor and evaluate client progress, modifying treatment plans as necessary.
- Review and assess the patient’s condition in each session and adjust therapy objectives accordingly.
- Provide therapy in both clinic and school/nursery settings, ensuring cultural and linguistic appropriateness.
- Deliver therapy through individual and/or group sessions.
3. Collaboration & Communication
- Participate actively in Multidisciplinary Team (MDT) meetings to align care plans.
- Work in close coordination with internal and external professionals including physicians, educators, psychologists, occupational therapists, and other healthcare providers.
- Educate families on home-based strategies and techniques to reinforce therapy goals.
- Provide training and guidance to teachers and shadow teachers on managing educational challenges.
- Offer emotional support and guidance to patients and families throughout the therapy process.
- Engage in training opportunities for parents and professionals as needed.
- Attend staff, professional, and parent meetings as required.
- Assist with in-service training for center staff when applicable.
4. Documentation & Compliance
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of assessments, therapy sessions, progress, and communications.
- Ensure documentation complies with clinic standards and regulatory requirements (e.g., DOH, ADEK).
- Adhere to all ethical, confidentiality, and professional standards in practice.
- Stay informed on current research and developments in the field to ensure evidence-based care.
5. Equipment & Facility Responsibilities
- Ensure therapy equipment is available, functioning, and used safely during sessions.
- Take responsibility for the appropriate use and maintenance of equipment in line with clinic policies.
- Ensure adherence to professional standards in daily speech therapy practices.
Job Types: Full-time, Permanent
Pay: AED6,000.00 - AED12,000.00 per month
