The Division
SmartWorks is a division of N. Harris Computer Corporation. For over a decade, SmartWorks has been providing best-in-class meter data management and analytics solutions to more than 300 utilities throughout North America and the Caribbean.
The Position
We are looking to expand our R&D capabilities and build up an integrated development team, so we are looking for a technical SQA Analyst. The hired individual will be responsible for writing automation test scripts, executing and updating test cases, and ensuring that bugs are found and reported promptly. While not required, candidates who are curious about emerging technologies—including AI—and how they can be applied to testing and quality assurance will thrive in this role.
The successful hire will be located and work out of the Contour Software Karachi office, working as part of the resource-center team, as an extension of the division-based R&D department.
Required Qualifications & Skills
  • BS degree in computer science, software engineering, or equivalent.
  • 2-6 years of professional experience in QA and aware of testing methodologies.
  • Minimum 2 years Java experience, including working knowledge of Unit Test frameworks such as JUnit.
  • Minimum 2 years of SQL experience.
  • Minimum 1 year of JavaScript experience.
  • Minimum 1 year of experience with automated scripting software testing technologies.
  • A focus on collaboration across multiple teams.
  • Strong English communication, both written and spoken, is a must.
  • Strong focus on attention to detail is a must.
  • Knowledge of software testing methodologies and the Software Development Life Cycle.
  • Outstanding organizational skills and attention to detail with an ability to take direction and communicate effectively.
  • Ability to work unsupervised as well as part of a team.
  • Strong time management. Use time effectively and efficiently, concentrating efforts on the most important priorities.
  • Action-oriented, capable of working with little or no direction at times.
Nice-to-Have Skills
  • Experience with REACT.
  • Experience in planning/executing QA test plans/cycles.
  • Interest in exploring how AI can support smarter test planning, execution, and reporting.
