Sr Advance Mechanical Engineer
JOB EXPECTATION :
- Work in a global team as an Individual Contributor with responsibilities and ownership for mechanical design in Value Engineering (VE) and Component Engineering (CE).
- The responsibilities include identifying cost reduction ideas from part & process design by BOM analysis, and ownership on VE/CE projects.
- The candidate will be working along with various teams such as design, simulation, drafting, evaluation, manufacturing, marketing, supply chain etc.
- Additional responsibilities include technical report generation, documentation, and progress reporting.
- It is also expected that the candidate would develop technical expertise in the product lines quickly to develop VE/CE ideas.
- Candidates are expected to have good knowledge in mechanical design with the ability to use this knowledge on VE/CE ideation in mechanical design for BMS products like Controller, Thermostats, Damper Actuators & Field devices.
- He / She needs to have a proven record of working on mechanical design for product development and has a deep understanding of the New Product Introduction (NPI) process.
SKILL REQUIREMENT:
- Experience in Value engineering and Component Engineering. Knowledge of Value engineering process & methodologies.
- Expertise in mechanical design, engineering concepts & calculations.
- Have a deep understanding on different manufacturing processes like plastic injection moulding, metal parts machining, casting, sheet metal process, casting, joining methodologies (crimping, welding, brazing, soldering) & plating.
- Good knowledge about materials such as engineering plastics, metals, plating.
- Expert in CAD tools CREO/ Pro-Engineer
- Exposure to Six Sigma methodology and statistical analysis. Experience on GD&T, Statistical Tolerance Analysis, Design for Manufacturability and Assembly
- Experience in developing DFMEA, PFMEA, RCA, control plan and process flow chart.
- Exposure to handling engineering change request and engineering change order.
- Conceptualize the product and translate the requirements into CTQs for design.
- Exposure to full design life cycle in new product development.
- Knowledge of should costing. Ability to estimate the cost of proposed design/concept taking into consideration the material, manufacturing process & assembly costs.
- Hands-on experience in structural & thermal simulation using ANSYS
- Problem Solving Skills: Demonstrates the ability to independently analyse problems, engage relevant stakeholders, and develop effective solutions.
- Demonstrates accountability (collaborating with others) for the design / implementation/ delivery of subsystem/product.
- Exhibits accountability through effective collaboration in the design, implementation, and delivery of subsystems or products.
- Prepares comprehensive final project reports or delivers project team presentations or demonstrations to cross-functional teams, customers, or management. Demonstrates the ability to effectively communicate ideas and proposals through well-structured presentations or detailed reports.
- Business communication skills: Responsible for interacting with R&D, cross-functional teams, suppliers, and the offering team at global locations to gather input, review and execute ideas, and provide timely updates through regular communication.
- Collaborates with cross-functional stakeholders to ensure technical objectives are achieved within given project or program constraints. Actively participates in project planning and execution phases to manage technical risks. Demonstrates a comprehensive understanding of product certification requirements.
QUALIFICATION:
B. E/ B. Tech, M. E/ M. Tech in Mechanical Engineering

10 – 15 years of experience
