Sr. Auditor

Role Summary

The Senior Auditor will lead and execute internal audit activities, ensuring that financial operations, internal controls, compliance procedures, and reporting mechanisms are robust, accurate, and aligned with statutory and corporate standards. The role involves supervising junior auditors, optimizing audit processes, and providing actionable recommendations to leadership.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and manage the planning, execution, and reporting of comprehensive internal audits across departments and business functions.
• Assess the effectiveness of internal controls, financial processes, risk management, and compliance systems
• Supervise, mentor, and review the work of junior auditors to ensure audit quality and accuracy.
• Prepare detailed audit reports outlining findings, risks, corrective actions, and timeline recommendations.
• Present audit results and insights to senior management with practical improvement strategies.
• Coordinate periodic and surprise audits, follow up on corrective actions and ensure timely closure of audit observations.
• Stay up-to-date with changes related to auditing standards, statutory requirements, and best practices for risk and compliance.
• Support the implementation of audit recommendations and contribute to strengthening governance processes.

Required Qualifications & Skills

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Commerce, or a related field.
• Professional qualification such as CA Inter, CMA Inter (preferred).
• Minimum 5+ years of experience in Audit firm, preferably in internal audit or in the construction/related industry.
• Strong analytical, organizational and leadership skills.
• Excellent communication and report-writing abilities.
• Proficiency in accounting software and MS Office (especially Excel).
• High integrity, attention to detail, and problem-solving flair.

Preferred Attributes

• Experience with ERP systems, financial risk frameworks, and statutory compliance in Indian context.
• Mining, Construction and project-based audit exposure will be a plus.
