Job Summary
Church & Dwight is seeking a Senior Buyer to join the Global Procurement Team. In this highly visible role, the Senior Buyer will be responsible for procuring chemicals and raw materials for Personal Care and Cat Litter products in accordance with prescribed procurement policies and procedures.
This role will lead or provide sourcing support and prepare bid specifications, issue bid requests, review quotations, and lead or support contracting execution while ensuring assurance of supply, cost efficiency, quality, and regulatory compliance.
About the Role
The Senior Buyer will support the sourcing and supply of materials used in the manufacturing of brands such as Arm & Hammer, Trojan, and TheraBreath.
The role will manage all steps of the strategic sourcing process including developing RFPs, negotiating with suppliers (including eAuction), conducting bid analysis, and making supplier recommendations. The Senior Buyer will partner closely with key stakeholder teams including R&D, Supply Chain, Quality, Legal, and Plant Operations to support sourcing strategies, supplier reliability initiatives, and new product launches.
This position will also support category strategy development through market research, supplier benchmarking, and savings initiatives while maintaining strong supplier relationships and ensuring continuity of supply.
Work Environment
Hybrid: The role will be based in Ewing, NJ and requires in-person attendance on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays, with remote work options on Mondays and Fridays.
Role Accountabilities and Responsibilities
Guide identification and selection of suppliers to procure chemicals, meeting criteria such as assurance of supply, service, cost, quality, regulatory compliance, and responsible sourcing.
Support the sourcing and supply of materials used in the manufacturing of brands such as Arm & Hammer, Trojan, and TheraBreath.
Manage and execute all steps of the strategic sourcing process including developing RFPs, negotiating with suppliers (including eAuction), conducting bid analysis, and making supplier recommendations.
Support and execute strategic initiatives within assigned categories to drive maximum cost savings and value creation for the organization.
Partner closely with key stakeholder teams to understand critical business needs and support development of sourcing strategies to deliver results meeting these objectives.
Support the development of specific category strategies for the assigned spend categories, including market research/benchmarks, milestones, savings targets, resource requirements, and implementation plans.
Interpret and communicate purchasing procedures to functions and provide sourcing support.
Write and distribute complex and technical bid invitations or requests for proposals; receive and analyze bids, quotes, and proposals. Award business and execute contracts.
Deliver assurance of supply in partnership with Operations and Quality.
Partner with Supplier, Plant Operations, Quality, and Supply Chain on Supplier Reliability initiatives.
Support routine supplier business reviews and site visits, evaluating supplier performance and compliance.
Collaborate with Corporate Marketing teams on product launches and transitions.
Negotiate payment term extensions in support of company’s cash flow initiatives.
Complete accurate and timely SAP master data updates.
Education and Experience
Required Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree required.
3+ years of Procurement and/or Supply Chain experience.
Minimum 1+ year of experience with contract negotiations.
Strong communication skills with the ability to manage external supplier relationships and cross-functional partnerships.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience in chemical procurement or raw material sourcing.
MBA or advanced degree.
CPIM, CSCP, or CPM certification.
Experience working with ERP/P2P systems such as SAP or Oracle.
Strong analytical and quantitative skills, including experience using Excel for analysis.
Compensation and Benefits
The US base salary range for this full-time position is $92,500-$105,700. This position is also eligible for a bonus.

The actual base pay offered to the successful candidate will be based on multiple factors, including, but not limited to, job-related knowledge/skills, experience, business needs, geographical location, and internal pay parity. Compensation decisions are dependent upon the facts and circumstances of each position and candidate.
