ASMO aims to be operational in 2025 and provide reliable end-to-end integrated procurement and supply chain services for companies across the industrial, energy, chemical, and petrochemical sectors. Our focus customers in the short term will be Saudi Aramco and its Affiliates. In the long term, all the industrial sectors within Saudi Arabia aim to reach the MENA region.


Objective:


Responsible for coordinating with various departments within the company to ensure compliance with legal provisions and providing expert legal advice to minimize and effectively manage legal risk exposure. Played a crucial role in supporting the company in corporate, commercial, HR, contracting, governance, litigation, and all legal matters.


General Responsibilities:

  • Support in executing the Legal Department’s long-term strategic plan in alignment with the corporate strategies.
  • Report to the General Counsel on the progress of activities against the annual business plans, opportunities, challenges and issues faced, mitigations taken, etc., as required, to make an informed decision.
  • Support the execution of the Legal Department's long-term strategic plan in alignment with the company's overall strategy.
  • Report regularly to the General Counsel on the progress of legal activities, highlighting key opportunities, challenges, and mitigation actions taken.
  • Demonstrate a deep understanding of the terms and conditions of various contracts used by the company, particularly those relating to procurement and supply chain.
  • Perform thorough pre-contract activities, including drafting and reviewing the terms and conditions of contracts and agreements.
  • Draft clear and comprehensive policies and procedures, seeking sign-off from the General Counsel where necessary.
  • Ensure effective legal representation in all legal proceedings involving the company.
  • Prioritize and address any reported breaches occurring during the contracting process.
  • Conduct root cause analysis of identified breaches in the contracting process and other legal matters.
  • Stay up-to-date with all regulatory and local law updates or changes that may affect the company's operations.
  • Analyze the potential impacts of new regulations on the company's operations and advise management accordingly.
  • Conduct extensive legal research and provide sound legal advice based on research findings and interpretation of local laws.
  • Collaborate with relevant stakeholders to develop standardized agreements and templates.
  • Provide valuable input and guidance during the implementation of human resources policies and procedures, ensuring full compliance with KSA labor law and the company's internal policies.
  • Support in developing and implementing the Legal Departmental policies, systems, processes, and procedures to ensure operational excellence.
  • Support in ensuring compliance with ASMO’s standards and regulatory requirements that are aligned with business needs to increase operational effectiveness.
  • Present regular and ad-hoc management reports related to the function, provide recommendations to the General Counsel on new opportunities, highlight critical issues and challenges, and provide strategic insight to ensure effective decision-making.


Qualifications:


  • A qualified Saudi lawyer with at least 11 years of post-qualification experience in corporate, contracts, HR, governance, and commercial matters.
  • Legal experience in procurement or logistics sectors is preferred but not necessary.
  • In-depth knowledge of Saudi Arabian laws and regulations, specifically those governing corporations, contracts, employment, and commerce.
  • Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and ability to interpret complex legal documents.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, enabling effective collaboration with cross-functional teams.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks, handle multiple assignments simultaneously, and meet tight deadlines while maintaining high levels of accuracy and quality.
