Sr Data Engineer, Amazon

We are looking for a Sr. Data Engineer to help us evolve the tools, services and frameworks we provide. We seek that rare combination of a solid coding background, a proven track record of applying technologies at scale, and a willingness to challenge the status quo and raise the bar on every service and feature we build.

Key job responsibilities
Own, build, develop and lead the technical strategy of a business critical initiative to design, develop, launch and maintain advertising data solution(s) and data service(s) that enables advertisers with simplified AI-powered advertising offerings.

We are looking for a someone excited about leading the technical strategy of engineering and science teams by working closely with a Principal Engineer and Scientists.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

• 5+ years of data engineering experience
• Experience with data modeling, warehousing and building ETL pipelines
• Experience with SQL
• Experience in at least one modern scripting or programming language, such as Python, Java, Scala, or NodeJS
• Experience mentoring team members on best practices

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

• Experience with big data technologies such as: Hadoop, Hive, Spark, EMR
• Experience operating large data warehouses

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $139,100/year in our lowest geographic market up to $240,500/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
