We are looking for a focused and highly skilled Part-Time Data Engineer to join our team.
You will be responsible for designing, building, and maintaining our data pipelines and infrastructure. Since this is a part-time role we are looking for a professional who can work independently, prioritize high-impact tasks, and ensure our data is clean, accessible, and reliable for our software products and business analytics.
Key Responsibilities
1. Data Architecture & ETL
- Design and implement robust ETL/ELT pipelines to move data from various sources (APIs, Databases, Logs) into our data warehouse.
- Optimize data flow and collection for cross-functional teams (Product, Engineering, Sales).
- Ensure data integrity and high availability for our software applications.
2. Infrastructure & Maintenance
- Monitor and tune database performance and query efficiency.
- Implement data security and privacy best practices (GDPR/Compliance).
- Maintain and scale our data stack (e.g., PostgreSQL, BigQuery, Snowflake, or similar).
3. Tooling & Collaboration
- Build internal tools for data monitoring and automated reporting.
- Work closely with the Project Coordinator and Developers to ensure data requirements are met for new feature launches.
Required Technical Stack
- Languages: Mastery of SQL and Python (or Scala/Java).
- Data Tools: Experience with orchestration tools like Airflow, Prefect, or dbt.
- Cloud: Proficiency in AWS, Azure, or GCP (Google Cloud Platform).
- Big Data: Familiarity with Spark, Kafka, or NoSQL databases is a plus.
Required Experience
- Experience: 3–5 years of professional experience in Data Engineering.
- Autonomy: Proven ability to manage your own time and deliver projects within a part-time schedule.
- Communication: Crystal-clear English communication (essential for asynchronous work and documentation).
