The Senior Data Governance Analyst is responsible for executing and supporting the enterprise data governance program to enhance the quality, accessibility, and security of company data. This role works closely with data owners, stewards, and business stakeholders to implement governance standards, maintain data assets, and support data-driven decision-making across analytics and cloud platforms. The ideal candidate has strong technical, analytical, and organizational skills, with experience in modern data tools, cloud platforms, and advanced analytics.

Duties and Responsibilities:
Data Management and Governance

Execute the company's data governance program, collaborating with data owners, stewards, and custodians

Maintain and update key data assets, including data dictionaries, catalogs, lineage diagrams, anomaly detection rules, and entity relationship diagrams

Monitor data quality metrics, identify issues, and recommend solutions to drive continual improvement.

Collaborate with legal, compliance, and operations teams to ensure data retention and handling policies are followed

Partner with architecture, applications, and infrastructure teams to support cloud-based and on-premises data architecture initiatives

Assist in maintaining master data management standards for enterprise data stores and semantic layers.

Ensure protection of confidential and regulated data according to internal policies and regulatory guidelines

Support stakeholders in finding, understanding, and using company data effectively for reporting, analytics, and advanced modeling

Support development and maintenance of cloud-based data pipelines and analytics services
-
Assist in resolving data engineering and analytics issues, escalating risks when necessary

Analytics and Cloud Focus

Support the creation and maintenance of dashboards, reports, and analytics use cases across business units

Partner with analytics teams to ensure data is accessible, accurate, and well-documented for business intelligence, predictive modeling, and advanced analytics.

Work with cloud platforms (e.g., Snowflake, Azure, Databricks) to ensure data governance policies and standards are applied consistently

Collaborate with BI/analytics teams on data integration, transformation, and pipeline processes in cloud environments

Support the implementation of data quality, anomaly detection, and monitoring in cloud-based analytics pipelines
Governance Processes & Standards

Assist in defining and implementing enterprise data governance processes, standards, and best practices

Help document and maintain master data definitions, data lineage, and business rules in alignment with stakeholder needs
Stakeholder Management

Collaborate with business units to support data classification, documentation, and lineage efforts

Communicate data governance policies, standards, and best practices across technical and business stakeholders

Assist in creating dashboards, metrics, and presentations to track data governance program progress
-
Support compliance with privacy and regulatory requirements (e.g., GDPR, CCPA)
Data Quality

Implement and monitor data quality checks and processes to detect and correct issues
-
Support measurement and reporting of data quality metrics and recommend improvements
Job Requirements: (please ensure you meet the listed requirements prior to applying)
- Bachelor's degree - required

in Statistics, Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field - preferred

Minimum 3-5 years of experience in data governance, data management, analytics, or related roles - required

Hands-on experience with data governance tools and platforms (e.g., Alation, dbt, Anomalo, Erwin)

Knowledge of database concepts, data modeling, and analytics frameworks (e.g., Kimball, Data Vault, Data Marts, Data Warehouses, Data Lakes)

Experience with cloud data platforms such as Snowflake, Azure, or Databricks - required

Snowflake, SnowPro, and/or Azure Fundamentals certifications - preferred

Understanding of master data management practices and data architecture principles

Proficiency in SQL/NoSQL and experience supporting BI/analytics use cases

Familiarity with GDPR, CCPA, and PII/PHI data handling best practices
-
Experience with cloud-based analytics, data pipelines, and semantic layers - preferred

Strong problem-solving, communication, and organizational skills

Ability to manage multiple projects and prioritize tasks effectively

Ability to work a flexible schedule based on department and Company needs

Willing to work odd and irregular hours including nights, weekends, and holidays

Willing to travel and participate in training as recommended or required

Must have a valid and current State Driver's License and an insurable driving record for purposes of driving company vehicles as required

Must have a Tribal Gaming License (or the ability to obtain and maintain a license) as a requirement for this position

Must have a PGCB Gaming License (or the ability to obtain and maintain a license) as a requirement for this position

Must have willingness and ability to work in a smoke/secondary smoke environment
