Sr. Electrical Engineer

We are urgently looking for a highly qualified and experienced Senior Electrical Engineer with a strong background in building projects and mandatory BIM capabilities. The successful candidate will be instrumental in the design, review, and supervision of electrical systems for large-scale building projects, ensuring compliance with PWA's Employer's Information Requirements (EIR) and local regulations. This is a critical role requiring a demonstrated history of working within a consultancy environment and possessing a valid UPDA Grade A certification.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead and manage all aspects of electrical engineering design, analysis, and specifications for complex building projects.
• Ensure all designs comply with relevant Qatari and international codes, standards, and regulations, specifically Public Works Authority (PWA) requirements.
• Develop, implement, and manage BIM models for electrical systems, ensuring strict adherence to PWA's Employer's Information Requirements (EIR) and project-specific BIM execution plans.
• Conduct technical reviews of drawings, specifications, calculations, and vendor submissions to ensure quality, accuracy, and compliance.
• Collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams, including architects, civil, mechanical, and structural engineers, clients, and contractors.
• Provide expert technical guidance and support during all project phases from conceptual design through construction and commissioning.
• Prepare detailed technical reports, project documentation, and presentations.
• Liaise directly with clients, particularly PWA representatives, for technical approvals and coordination.
• Mentor and provide technical guidance to junior electrical engineers and CAD/BIM technicians.
• Participate in site visits, inspections, and meetings as required to monitor progress and resolve technical issues.

Required Qualifications:

• Education: Bachelor's Degree (B.Sc.) in Electrical Engineering from a recognized university.
• Experience: Minimum of 15 years of progressive professional experience in electrical engineering, with a significant portion gained within a consultancy environment on building projects.
• Licensure: Valid UPDA (Urban Planning and Development Authority) Grade A certification in Qatar is mandatory.
• BIM Capability: Mandatory and proven proficiency in Building Information Modeling (BIM) software and workflows for electrical systems.
• PWA Expertise: Demonstrated experience and strong understanding of PWA's Employer's Information Requirements (EIR) in the context of BIM.
• Building Project Experience: Extensive experience in the design and delivery of electrical systems for large-scale building projects (e.g., commercial, residential, institutional, healthcare).
• Technical Skills: Expert knowledge of electrical codes, standards (e.g., NFPA, IEC, BS, QCS), power distribution, lighting, fire alarm, low current systems, and associated calculations.
• Communication: Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Previous project approval or successful engagement with the Public Works Authority (PWA) on prior projects in Qatar.
• Immediate availability to commence within two weeks.
