Position Title: Senior Executive – Logistics (Outbound)

Reporting To: Manager – Logistics / Supply Chain Head

Position Overview:

The Senior Executive – Logistics (Outbound) will be responsible for end-to-end management of dispatch and transportation activities from the company’s plant/warehouse to customers, distributors, and retail partners. The role focuses purely on outbound logistics, ensuring timely deliveries, vehicle coordination, documentation accuracy, and cost control in line with company standards.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Dispatch Operations:

Plan and execute daily dispatches based on sales orders and delivery schedules.

Coordinate with warehouse and sales teams for dispatch readiness and order accuracy.

Allocate vehicles as per load capacity and destination requirements.

Monitor dispatch loading and unloading activities to ensure proper handling.

2. Transportation Management:

Coordinate with transporters, courier agencies, and logistics partners for vehicle arrangement.

Track vehicle movements and ensure on-time delivery to customers.

Negotiate transport rates and ensure cost-effective routing.

Verify transport bills and assist in freight payment processing.

3. Documentation & Compliance:

Prepare and verify dispatch documents such as invoice, delivery challan, LR copy, and e-way bill.

Ensure that all logistics operations comply with statutory and GST requirements.

Maintain proper record of LR, POD (Proof of Delivery), and delivery acknowledgments.

Follow up with transporters/customers for pending PODs and upload in system.

4. Vehicle & Route Coordination:

Optimize route planning for timely and economical deliveries.

Monitor vehicle turnaround time (TAT) and take corrective actions to reduce delays.

Maintain transporter performance records and delivery metrics.

5. Reporting & MIS:

Prepare daily dispatch reports and transporter-wise freight summaries.

Track and report damages, shortages, or returns in coordination with warehouse.

Maintain dispatch log, freight register, and route-wise performance MIS.

6. Coordination & Support:

Coordinate closely with warehouse, production, and sales teams for smooth dispatch flow.

Handle customer delivery-related queries and resolve issues promptly.

Assist in logistics audits and physical stock reconciliation during dispatch.

Key Skills & Competencies:

Strong understanding of outbound logistics operations.

Knowledge of transport management, dispatch documentation, and GST compliance.

Proficiency in MS Excel, ERP/Tally, and e-way bill portal.

Excellent coordination, communication, and problem-solving skills.

Ability to handle multiple dispatches and meet strict timelines.

Educational Qualification & Experience:

Education: Graduate in Commerce / Logistics / Supply Chain / Operations.

Experience: 3–6 years in outbound logistics, dispatch, or transportation in a manufacturing or FMCG setup.

Preferred: Candidates with hands-on experience in factory dispatch & distribution operations.
