Sr. HSE / Safety Officer

We're Hiring: Sr. HSE / Safety Officer - Building Construction Projects (United Arab Emirates)

We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Sr. HSE / Safety Officer with a background in civil construction to join our project team in the UAE

Key Responsibilities:

• Arrange site safety induction training to all personnel at site and weekly site safety toolbox talks.
• Communicate directly with on-site supervisors, engineers, subcontractors regarding all HSE related issues.
• Ensure subcontractors operate in a safe manner and comply with the project HSE plan and HSE Management System.
• Ensure risk assessments have been carried out for all work activities and communicated to relevant personnel.
• Prepare HSE incident reports and investigate to determine the cause of incidents and dangerous occurrences; ensure follow up and close-out of corrective action.
• Compile, record and maintain the necessary site HSE records and statistics and prepare monthly HSE reports as necessary for the project.
• Carry regular as well as improvised inspections and monitoring of the site to ensure that only safe methods of works are used in operation and that all safety requirements including statutory regulations are being observed.
• Conduct periodic inspection of all tools and equipment.
• Ensure the use of PPE, proper tools / equipment.
• Provide Project Manager, Construction Manager and Project Engineer with consultations and discussions concerning safe working practices, dangerous occurrences and any unsafe conditions or defects in plants or equipment.
• Issue and administrate violation, disciplinary notices / spot notices as necessary and ensure follow up to close the same.
• Supervise critical works like hoisting of equipment, pressure testing, etc.

Requirements:

• Bachelor Degree
• 10 years working experience including in high-rise building construction projects.
• Certificates in HSE like NEBOSH / IOSH or equivalent
• Familiarity with HSE related UAE laws, municipality regulations and industry best practices.
• Good communication and teamwork skills.
