Job Summary:

The Sr. IT Business Application Analyst is responsible for serving as a liaison between the business and IT, by documenting current state business processes, designing and implementing future state business processes, defining problems and identifying opportunities, troubleshooting issues faced by end users, recommending solutions, performing testing, assisting in training and organizational change management initiatives, etc. The business analyst will work closely with business stakeholders, functional leads, functional consultants, developers, project managers, product owners, etc. The business analyst should have knowledge of how technology and systems are utilized to solve business problems across various departments. They should have an enterprise-wide view of business processes and have a continuous process improvement mindset. They should also have the depth of knowledge in certain business areas and systems. The business analyst will also support HP Hood as they deploy a transformational multi-year project to implement Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) solution.

This role will require on average 10% travel.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Champion process improvement methodologies (e.g., Lean) and the value of continuous improvement
  • Document end-to-end current state business processes (e.g., Business Process Maps), modeling/mapping data; design & implement future state business processes
  • Define and document business problems, identify opportunities, troubleshoot issues faced by end users, recommend solutions.
  • Collaborate with business stakeholders to review and refine user stories, elicit and document detailed business requirements, and author comprehensive Business Requirement Documents (BRD) and Functional Requirement Documents (FRD) to guide solution design and development.
  • Effectively communicate business requirements to technical team and work with them to evaluation solution against business requirements.
  • Contributes to the PLM solution by becoming familiar with the current state and future state business processes, interim-state processes, business requirements, liaising between the facility and the core project team on a variety of topics
  • Conduct system demonstrations for business stakeholders, clearly articulating functionality and value against user stories, while confidently addressing questions and facilitating meaningful discussions to ensure stakeholder alignment
  • Understand and analyze various data elements, data structure and define future state data model for PLM system
  • Serve as a liaison between business, functional and technical stakeholders, and the core project team
  • Understand overall business processes and how they are interconnected.
  • Identify end-to-end business scenarios for testing, Prepare business test scripts and perform testing in quality environment and document the results
  • Spearhead and oversee User Acceptance Testing (UAT) by identifying appropriate end users, providing targeted training to ensure effective execution of test scripts, and driving timely resolution of identified defects
  • Lead & Facilitate data transformation & migration efforts from legacy system to future state system
  • Test data migration results and validate migration with key business users
  • Evaluate system integration requirements and conduct source to target mapping
  • Assist in training and organizational change management initiatives
  • Contribute to facility contingency planning, change readiness assessments, help develop training materials and conduct end user trainings as required.
  • Support Go-Lives at all facilities as required. This will include providing Hypercare support, cutover activities, Facilitation of defect remediation, helping to resolve help desk tickets, creating required documentation.
  • After PLM Implementation, serves as an expert assisting the business, acting as a "first line of defense" for ongoing functional/technical process issues. This could include, troubleshooting production issues, providing resolutions, conducting root cause analysis and working to continuously improve the process.
  • Cross-trains other business analysts.
  • All other duties as assigned.

Education and Experience:

  • BS/BA in Business, Information Systems, , Computer Science or Engineering preferred and/or a minimum of 5 years of experience as Business Analyst using PLM system
  • Functional & business knowledge in some areas of R&D, FSQ, Regulatory preferred
  • Salesforce experience preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of enterprise-wide master data and transaction data
  • Knowledge of key software integration
  • Experience working in a consumer goods, manufacturing, company is preferred
  • Lean, Six Sigma, or Lean Six Sigma Certification a strong plus
  • Full-scale, full-cycle implementation project experience supporting the enablement of enterprise-wide business processes in PLM system is preferred.

Will be expected to communicate to employees and suppliers at all levels (including company executives) via face to face meetings, conference calls, written messages and project documentation. Ideal candidate must have excellent documentation skills, presentation skills and meeting facilitation skills.
  • Creative and analytical. Strong problem solving and conflict resolution skills. Can do attitude.
  • Ability to react under pressure to any given situation that may arise, in a professional manner and with positive results, in support of a multi-location, 7 X 24 environment.
  • Ability to be the liaison between technology and the business.
  • Ability to work independently, with limited direction, to achieve expected results.
  • Basic to intermediate Microsoft Office skills, to include MS PowerPoint, MS Excel, MS Visio, Project Management Tools.
  • Strong understanding of system development lifecycles (SDLC), including Agile, Waterfall and Kanban methodologies
