Company Description

Quantum Global Data Center, a Subsidiary of Gul Ahmed Energy Group is developing a state-of-the-art commercial data center in Karachi, Pakistan, designed to meet internationally recognized standards for concurrent maintainability. The project includes phased capacity expansion to support hyperscale and enterprise clients, integration with a captive 136 MW power plant for reliable off-grid operations, and advanced IT/OT infrastructure to ensure high availability. The facility will focus on sustainability, cybersecurity, and regulatory compliance, serving finance, telecom, and cloud sectors in Pakistan and the region.


Role Description

This is a full-time, on-site role for an Assistant Manager Administration, based in Karachi. The Assistant Manager Administration will oversee daily administrative operations, manage office supplies and equipment, coordinate internal and external communications, and ensure compliance with company policies. They will also handle scheduling, manage staff records, and support the implementation of administrative systems and procedures.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the planning, design and technology road map of internationally recognized standardized tier III level data centers.
  • Oversee the construction phase of data centers including building construction and associated infrastructure components like HVAC system, Fire Suppression, power systems including rectifiers & UPS, access control and environmental safety mechanisms.
  • Lead the infrastructure life cycle planning including upgrades, expansions and relocations.
  • Ensure alignment of design deliverables with project objectives, budget, and schedule.
  • Review and approve design drawings, technical specifications, and reports for accuracy and compliance.
  • Ensure seamless coordination between mechanical, electrical, civil, and architectural designs.
  • Manage complete budgeting requirements including CAPEX management.
  • Ensure certifications and compliance as per international standards (e.g., Uptime Institute, ISO, ANSI/TIA) and local regulatory standards.
  • Validate compliance with international standards: ASHRAE, NFPA, IEC, IEEE, NEC, ISO 50001, and local authority requirements.
  • Implement global best practices and innovations for facility uptime, energy efficiency and emergency readiness.
  • Coordinate and liaise with internal & external teams such as (IT, cloud, vendors, international carriers, regulators) and support team building to enhance collaboration and departmental cohesion.
  • Lead and mentor the team by setting goals, providing guidance, promoting job enrichment and succession planning, fostering collaboration, and maintaining a holistic understanding of departmental functions.

  • Key Requirements:

    • Education:  Bachelor’s or Master’s in Electrical/Computer Engineering, Facilities Management, or related technical field.
    • Experience:  8–10 years of experience in data center design, operations, or management.
    • Technical Expertise:
    • Strong knowledge of TIA-942, Uptime Institute, EDGE, or BREEAM certifications.
    • Strong knowledge of data center facility design components (Civil, MEP, and IT infrastructure).
    • Strong knowledge of electrical systems (Generators, UPS, Rectifiers, Switchgear, etc.) along with Fire Suppression System.
    • Skilled in Visio/AutoCAD, data component design, power calculations, and PUE management.
    • Certifications:  CTDC, CDCP/CDCS/CDCE preferred.
    • Regulatory Knowledge:  Solid understanding of NEPRA, PTA, SBP/SECP regulations, global standards, and compliance audits.
