The Sr. Global Benefits Manager is responsible for the design, development, implementation, and ongoing management of corporate employee benefit programs worldwide. Programs include medical, dental, prescription drug, life insurance, short- and long-term disability, retirement plans, the employee stock purchase plan, and administration of leave of absence and workplace accommodation programs. Serves as the corporate subject-matter expert in global benefits and provides leadership to junior team members.

ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Ensure all company-sponsored benefit plans remain compliant with ERISA, DOL, IRS, and applicable global regulations.

  • Monitor plan experience—including claims, fees, and utilization—and develop per-capita cost analyses. Recommend enhancements aligned with benefit strategy and organizational goals.

  • Provide plan interpretation, technical research, and educational support to HR partners and administrative staff.

  • Prepare and review IRS/ERISA-required filings and communications (Form 5500, SPDs, SMMs, SARs).

  • Negotiate contracts with carriers, administrators, and service providers; coordinate execution of plan documents with Legal.

  • Serve as primary liaison with carriers to secure renewals, settlements, claims and utilization reporting, and enrollment data.

  • Review and oversee benefit communication materials, including annual enrollment resources, handbook updates, and employee publications.

  • Coordinate internal and external audits of benefit programs.

  • Manage vendor performance, set expectations, conduct evaluations, and recommend changes when needed.

  • Maintain current knowledge of industry trends, emerging regulations, and best practices in benefits administration.

  • Analyze benefit deduction reports, ensure payroll accuracy, request monthly payments, and prepare monthly census reports.

  • Recommend and implement new or improved benefit programs and processes.

  • Audit benefit administration practices across the organization to ensure accuracy and compliance.

  • Maintain strong relationships with benefit insurance providers and conduct ongoing cost analyses.

  • Monitor, interpret, and respond to evolving domestic and international regulatory requirements.

  • Ensure accurate recordkeeping of employee eligibility, contributions, status changes, and terminations.

  • Maintain and update benefit orientation materials and resources.

  • Oversee administration of leave of absence programs (FMLA, disability, statutory leaves) and the workplace accommodation process, ensuring compliance with ADA and global/local requirements.

TECHNICAL COMPETENCIES (Knowledge, Skills & Abilities)

  • Deep knowledge of employee benefit plans, regulatory requirements, global benefits practices, and leave/accommodation administration.

  • Strong analytical capability to assess cost impacts and evaluate plan design changes.

  • Understanding of benefit financing methods and their implications on corporate financials.

  • Excellent communication, organizational, and planning skills; ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.

  • Strong problem-solving abilities, attention to detail, and proficiency with HRIS and related applications.

  • Collaborative team orientation with the ability to lead and mentor others.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field preferred.

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in benefits management, including prior experience administering leave of absence programs and workplace accommodations.

  • Global benefits experience desirable.

  • CEBS, CBP, or other advanced benefits certifications preferred.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS / WORK ENVIRONMENT

  • Work is performed on-site in our Dallas, TX Venue Support Center.

  • Regular use of computers, office equipment, and related technology.

  • Ability to travel up to 5% domestically and internationally.
