CertainTeed, a subsidiary of Saint-Gobain, is seeking a strategic and results-oriented Senior Manager, Retail Operations to lead the centralized operational function of the retail organization. This role oversees key functions including merchandising, business analytics, data management, and product setup, with a focus on improving internal complexity, responsiveness, and performance reporting.

With 10+ years of experience in retail operations or related fields, the Senior Manager leads a team of 6–10 direct and indirect reports and plays a critical role in driving operational excellence and measurable financial impact across the retail channel. This position contributes directly to the profitability and efficiency of the retail business and supports broader SGNA objectives through strategic execution and cross-functional collaboration.

Essential Functions:

Operational Leadership & Team Management

  • Lead and manage a centralized retail operations team, including merchandising managers, analysts, data specialists, and product setup roles.
  • Provide strategic direction, coaching, and performance management for 6–10 direct and indirect reports.
  • Foster a collaborative, results-driven culture focused on continuous improvement and operational excellence.

Strategic Execution & Financial Impact

  • Drive initiatives that improve operational efficiency, reduce redundancies, and enhance responsiveness across retail functions.
  • Contribute to financial performance by optimizing product setup, inventory flow, and merchandising execution.
  • Support budgeting, forecasting, and performance tracking to align operational goals with SGNA’s long-range planning (LRP) and financial objectives.

Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Partner with National Account Managers, supply chain, marketing, and business units to ensure alignment on retail execution and strategic priorities.
  • Collaborate with Business Unit Advocates to execute product line reviews, support new product introductions, and identify new product or business opportunities specific to the retail channel.

Process Optimization & Data Governance

  • Implement best practices for process standardization, item setup, and planogram execution.
  • Oversee data governance and quality assurance across retail systems to ensure accuracy and compliance.
  • Document and refine SOPs to support scalable operations and knowledge transfer.

Performance Reporting & Analytics

  • Develop and maintain dashboards and reporting tools to monitor retail performance, customer metrics, and operational KPIs.
  • Lead the development of monthly scorecards that track sales growth and operational performance against long-range planning (LRP) targets.
  • Prepare and deliver monthly core business presentations to internal leadership, highlighting key trends, risks, and opportunities.
  • Collaborate with National Account Management teams on the development of Line Review presentations and strategic customer-facing materials.

IS THIS JOB FOR YOU?
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, or related field; MBA preferred.
  • 10+ years of experience in retail operations, merchandising, or strategic planning.
  • Proven leadership experience managing cross-functional teams and driving operational impact.
  • Strong analytical, communication, and project management skills.
  • Proficiency in retail analytics, planogram development, and product lifecycle management.
  • Experience with retail systems (POS, ERP, IDM/IMA) and data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI) preferred.

BENEFITS IN JOINING US


Certain locations require pay information be provided in job postings. Saint-Gobain aims to deliver a comprehensive Total Rewards package to support our employees’ wellbeing and help improve daily life for themselves and their families. We believe in the importance of pay transparency in what we offer potential candidates. Provided is the national pay range for this position which is $133,000 to $213,000 per year. However, the base pay offered may vary depending on geographic region, internal equity, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience among other factors.

In addition to base salary, this position is eligible for an annual bonus. The targeted bonus amount is 13% of base salary based on company and individual performance measures. The Total Target Cash range (base pay and annual bonus) for this position, is $155,600 to $249,200 Bonus payments are part of variable compensation and by nature can vary based on company and individual performance and is not a guarantee.
