Sr. Mechanical Engineer

Job Overview:

We are urgently seeking a highly experienced Senior Mechanical Engineer (UPDA Grade A) with extensive expertise in building services to join our consulting team. The ideal candidate will have 15+ years of experience, a strong background in BIM (EIR-PWA compliance), and prior approval from Public Works Authority (PWA) is highly preferred.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead the design, review, and supervision of mechanical systems for large-scale building projects.
• Ensure compliance with PWA standards, UPDA regulations, and BIM requirements (EIR-PWA).
• Prepare and submit technical reports, drawings, and specifications for client and authority approvals.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams (architects, structural engineers, MEP teams) to deliver integrated designs.
• Conduct BIM coordination (Revit, Navisworks, etc.) and clash detection in line with project requirements.
• Perform value engineering and provide cost-effective solutions without compromising quality.
• Oversee construction supervision, inspections, and testing to ensure adherence to design specifications.
• Obtain necessary PWA approvals and coordinate with government authorities as required.

Qualifications & Requirements:

• Education: B.Sc. in Mechanical Engineering (M.Sc. preferred).
• Experience: Minimum 15+ years in mechanical design & consultancy for buildings (residential, commercial, or infrastructure).
• UPDA Certification: Grade A (Mandatory).
• PWA Experience: Prior approval experience is a strong advantage.
• BIM Proficiency: Mandatory (Revit, Navisworks, and compliance with EIR-PWA BIM standards).
• Consultancy Background: Must have worked with engineering consultancies, not just contracting firms.
• Soft Skills: Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving abilities.
