Senior Merchandiser, Business Development who serves as a revenue-driving, enterprise-facing merchandising strategist responsible for architecting and selling innovative, scalable product programs that secure high-value clients. Operating at the intersection of Sales, Creative, and Sourcing, this role shapes the commercial and product vision prior to award, translating complex client objectives into differentiated merchandising strategies designed to win, scale, and protect long-term profitability.

This individual develops persuasive product narratives, pricing architecture, sourcing pathways, and margin frameworks that position HALO competitively in enterprise pursuits. Upon award, they partner closely with Implementation and Merchandising teams to transfer the merchandising strategy, financial assumptions, and client commitments established during the sales process, ensuring continuity and execution integrity.

This role requires advanced creative vision, enterprise commercial acumen, consultative selling expertise, and the ability to operate in high-ambiguity, high-visibility environments.

Candidates should be prepared to present a portfolio demonstrating their ability to architect, sell, and scale innovative merchandising programs.

Responsibilities

  • Partner with Business Development Sales leadership to drive enterprise growth through high-impact merchandising strategies that differentiate HALO in competitive pursuits.
  • Lead consultative discovery conversations with enterprise clients translating brand objectives, procurement requirements, and financial expectations into scalable product architectures.
  • Architect assortment strategy, pricing structure, and margin frameworks during the pre-award phase to ensure profitability and operational feasibility.
  • Shape multi-year merchandising roadmaps that position HALO for long-term account expansion and share-of-wallet growth.
  • Lead concept development in collaboration with Creative to design innovative, brand-aligned product stories and campaign-driven assortments.
  • Evaluate materials, decoration techniques, global manufacturing capabilities, and sourcing pathways to convert ideation into executable, costed solutions.
  • Influence vendor strategy and production architecture during the sales phase to balance innovation, risk mitigation, and profitability.
  • Stay at the forefront of product innovation, sustainability initiatives, decoration advancements, and manufacturing capabilities to elevate client solutions.
  • Develop and deliver compelling enterprise-level presentations that clearly articulate product vision, assortment rationale, pricing architecture, margin logic, and execution roadmap.
  • Influence senior client stakeholders and procurement teams through data-backed, strategically positioned product strategies.
  • Participate in high-stakes pitch presentations alongside Sales leadership and executive stakeholders.
  • Support Sr Pricing Analyst in profitability models, margin scenarios, and pricing strategies that align creative innovation with commercial discipline.
  • Ensure financial assumptions and sourcing commitments are clearly documented and transferred post-award.
  • Collaborate with Implementation, Merchandising and Account Management teams on awarded accounts to ensure seamless handoff and execution, preserving the merchandising vision, pricing integrity, and client commitments established during the sales process.
  • Clearly communicate assortment logic, vendor decisions, margin frameworks, and risk considerations to preserve execution integrity.
  • Mentor merchandising team members in consultative selling, product storytelling, and enterprise-level financial strategy.
  • Represent HALO as a merchandising subject-matter expert at enterprise meetings, trade shows, activations, and industry events.
Requirements:


  • Bachelor’s degree in Merchandising, Business, Marketing, or related field (or equivalent experience).
  • 7+ years of merchandising, product development, or client-branded program experience with demonstrated impact on enterprise revenue growth.
  • Proven success leading high-value pitch presentations and influencing senior client stakeholders.
  • Advanced commercial acumen, including pricing architecture, profitability modeling, margin scenario planning, and retail math.
  • Experience shaping sourcing strategy and product architecture across domestic and overseas manufacturing environments.
  • Exceptional storytelling, executive communication, and consultative selling skills.
  • Ability to operate strategically in high-ambiguity, competitive sales environments.
  • Strong cross-functional leadership across Sales, Creative, Sourcing, and Implementation teams.
  • Demonstrated ability to mentor and elevate team capability.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and Adobe Illustrator; Jira and Smartsheet experience preferred.
  • Willingness to travel to enterprise client meetings, trade shows, and strategic events as required.
  • Operates with urgency, precision, and enterprise-level commercial discipline.
  • Adaptable, solutions-oriented, and comfortable navigating ambiguity.

Compensation: The estimated salary range for this position is between $75,000 to $105,000.00 annually. Please note that this pay range serves as a general guideline and reflects a broad spectrum of labor markets across the US. While it is uncommon for candidates to be hired at or near the top of the range, compensation decisions are influenced by various factors. At HALO, these include, but are not limited to, the scope and responsibilities of the role, the candidate's work experience, location, education and training, key skills, internal equity, external market data, and broader market and business considerations.
