Job Description
- Lead and supervise civil and structural construction activities on-site, ensuring alignment with approved drawings, technical specifications, project timelines, and HSE standards.
- Serve as a key liaison between consultants, clients, subcontractors, suppliers, and internal teams to coordinate engineering and construction deliverables.
- Prepare and review daily site reports, weekly progress updates, and monthly project performance summaries, with focus on identifying risks, bottlenecks, and actionable improvements.
- Drive the development and monitoring of project schedules using Primavera P6 or MS Project, proactively mitigating delays and optimizing resource deployment.
- Conduct regular site inspections and quality audits to verify compliance with design standards, QA/QC protocols, local regulations, and safety procedures.
- Evaluate and provide approval recommendations for technical submittals, shop drawings, method statements, and material samples to ensure conformance with project requirements.
- Enforce strict adherence to Health, Safety & Environmental (HSE) practices, actively promoting a safety-first culture across all project teams.
- Support budget control processes by validating executed works, monitoring material consumption, and assisting in preparing progress payment applications.
- Mentor and guide junior engineers and site staff in resolving complex technical challenges and adopting best engineering practices.
- Ensure comprehensive documentation and record-keeping, including RFIs, NCRs, as-built drawings, test reports, inspection requests, and correspondence logs.
- Represent the company in coordination meetings with clients, consultants, and contractors, providing clear project updates and managing issue resolution.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives such as value engineering, construction innovation, and cost-saving opportunities across project phases.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering or a related discipline (Master’s preferred for leadership roles).
- 8–12 years of hands-on experience in civil and structural construction, with a proven track record in delivering complex residential, commercial, or infrastructure projects.
- In-depth knowledge of construction management, engineering design interpretation, QA/QC frameworks, and regulatory compliance.
- Proficiency in engineering and project management tools: AutoCAD, MS Office Suite, Primavera P6 / MS Project.
- Experience in managing subcontractors, technical reviews, and contract deliverables.
- Demonstrated leadership ability with a strategic, solution-driven approach to project challenges.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with experience in technical reporting and stakeholder management.
- GCC project experience and a valid local driving license are highly desirable.
