Sr. QA/QC Engineer

Job Title: Senior QA/QC Engineer (High-Rise Specialist)

Role Objective

The Senior QA/QC Engineer will be responsible for overseeing the implementation of the Quality Management System (QMS) across all phases of a high-rise project. This includes structural integrity (Grade 80+ concrete, post-tensioning), high-speed vertical transportation, advanced MEP systems, and premium façade/cladding installations, ensuring all works meet Dubai Municipality (DM), Civil Defence (DCD), and international standards.

Key Responsibilities

1. Quality Management & Compliance

• Develop and implement the project-specific Quality Management Plan (QMP) and Inspection & Test Plans (ITP).
• Ensure all site activities comply with the approved Method Statements and Dubai Building Codes.
• Manage the Non-Conformance Report (NCR) process, from issuance to root cause analysis and close-out.

2. High-Rise Specific Oversight

• Structural: Supervise the quality of high-strength concrete pours, verticality alignment (using GPS/Laser plummet), and reinforcement for core walls and mega-columns.
• Envelopes: Oversee the testing and installation of curtain wall systems, ensuring water tightness and wind pressure resistance.
• Finishes: Manage the snagging and de-snagging process for luxury high-end interior fit-outs.

3. Material Inspection & Testing

• Review Material Submittals (MAR) and ensure all materials delivered to the site match approved samples.
• Coordinate with third-party laboratories for specialized testing (e.g., wind tunnel testing, fire-rated cable testing, and concrete durability tests).

4. Stakeholder Coordination

• Liaise with the Consultant and Client representatives for site inspections (RFI/WIR).
• Conduct regular internal quality audits and participate in external audits by regulatory bodies (DM/Trakhees).

Candidate RequirementsEducation & Experience

• Degree: Bachelor’s Degree in Civil or Structural Engineering.
• Experience: Minimum 10–12 years in QA/QC, with at least 5 years specifically on G+40 (or higher) high-rise projects in Dubai.
• Certification: ISO 9001:2015 Lead Auditor certification is highly preferred. Professional membership (e.g., ASQ, CQI) is a plus.

Technical Skills

• Deep knowledge of Dubai Municipality (DM) and Dubai Civil Defence (DCD) regulations.
• Proficiency in quality management software (e.g., Aconex, Procore, or Oracle Primavera).
• Strong understanding of high-rise construction sequences (slip-form, jump-form, and top-down construction).

Soft Skills

• Strong leadership skills to manage a team of junior QC inspectors.
• Excellent communication skills in English (Arabic is a bonus).
• A "zero-tolerance" attitude toward safety and quality non-compliance.
