Position
The Senior Scrum Master will serve as a key Agile leader supporting Accuity Healthcare’s AI and clinical documentation improvement (CDI) initiatives. This role partners closely with Product Owners, data scientists, AI engineers, and clinical stakeholders to drive effective Agile execution and continuous improvement.
This individual will act as both a hands-on Scrum Master for delivery teams and an Agile coach across the organization. The role is responsible for improving Agile maturity, strengthening business and technical collaboration, and ensuring consistent, predictable delivery of high-value solutions that enhance revenue cycle performance and clinical documentation accuracy.
Responsibilities
Team Delivery & Execution
- Facilitate all Scrum ceremonies including sprint planning, daily stand-ups, sprint reviews, and retrospectives to ensure effective execution and continuous improvement
- Ensure adherence to Agile/Scrum principles and promote best practices across teams
- Partner with Product Owners to improve backlog health, refinement practices, and Definition of Ready/Done
- Drive improved intake processes and strengthen collaboration between business stakeholders and delivery teams
- Identify, manage, and remove impediments impacting team progress, escalating when necessary
- Enable teams to become more self-organizing, accountable, and outcome-driven
Agile Coaching & Organizational Leadership
- Act as an Agile coach to multiple teams, helping evolve Agile maturity across the organization
- Mentor and develop other Scrum Masters, establishing standards and best practices
- Lead initiatives to improve:
- Requirements intake and refinement processes
- Stakeholder engagement and business alignment
- Cross-team coordination and dependency management
- Promote a culture of continuous improvement, transparency, and accountability across teams
- Contribute to building an Agile Center of Excellence (CoE), including frameworks, templates, and playbooks
Metrics, Reporting & Continuous Improvement
- Own and track delivery metrics such as velocity, predictability, cycle time, and throughput
- Partner with Product Owners to define and communicate broader outcome-based metrics
- Use data-driven insights to identify bottlenecks and drive process improvements
- Ensure visibility into team performance and progress through dashboards and reporting
Collaboration & Stakeholder Engagement
- Serve as a key liaison between Product, Engineering, and clinical stakeholders
- Support Product Owners in optimizing stakeholder communication and alignment
- Foster strong partnerships between technical teams and clinical/business leadership
- Ensure alignment of delivery with organizational priorities and regulatory considerations
Work Environment
- Location is remote with expectation of being on camera for daily meetings
- Supports AI and data science teams focused on internal platforms and tools
- Works closely with Product Owners and clinical leadership to improve healthcare outcomes and operational efficiency
- Plays a key role in advancing Agile maturity across Accuity Healthcare
Qualifications
Education
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Information Technology, Healthcare, or a related field
Experience
- 5–8+ years of experience as a Scrum Master in Agile environments, including experience supporting multiple teams
- Proven experience facilitating Agile ceremonies and improving team delivery performance
- Strong understanding of Agile frameworks (Scrum, Kanban) and software development lifecycle
- Experience with Agile tools such as Jira
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in healthcare technology, including:
- Clinical Documentation Improvement (CDI)
- Revenue cycle management or medical coding
- EHR workflows and clinical systems
- Experience working with data science or AI/ML teams
- Scrum certifications such as CSM, PSM, or equivalent
- Experience leading Agile transformations or maturity improvements
