Job Description – Sr. Site Engineer (Civil Construction)

Position: Senior Site Engineer – Civil

Location: Coimbatore

Reporting To: Project Manager

1. Job Summary

The Senior Site Engineer is responsible for supervising, coordinating, and managing all civil construction activities at the site. This role ensures project execution as per drawings, specifications, quality standards, and timeline. The engineer will lead site teams, monitor progress, ensure safety compliance, and coordinate with contractors, consultants, and management.

2. Key Responsibilities

A. Site Execution & Supervision

• Execute and monitor all civil works such as excavation, concreting, shuttering, reinforcement, masonry, plastering, finishing, etc.
• Ensure work is carried out as per approved drawings, method statements, and project specifications.
• Provide technical guidance to junior engineers, supervisors, and subcontractors.

B. Planning & Coordination

• Prepare daily/weekly work plans and ensure timely completion of activities.
• Coordinate with subcontractors, vendors, consultants, and project management.
• Attend site meetings and provide progress updates.

C. Quality Assurance & Control

• Ensure materials used are as per approved quality and specifications.
• Conduct inspections at each stage of work.
• Maintain QA/QC documentation, checklists, and reports.

D. Monitoring & Reporting

• Monitor project progress against schedule.
• Prepare daily site reports, labor reports, material consumption, and DPR (Daily Progress Report).
• Track and report deviations, delays, and technical issues.

E. Material & Resource Management

• Ensure availability of materials, tools, and equipment at site.
• Verify material quantities, reconciliation, and wastage control.
• Raise material requisition in time.

F. Safety Compliance

• Ensure all site workers follow safety rules and PPE usage.
• Coordinate with HSE team for toolbox meetings and hazard monitoring.
• Report incidents/near misses and implement corrective actions.

G. Drawings & Documentation

• Review structural, architectural, and services drawings.
• Identify discrepancies and raise RFIs.
• Maintain site records, checklists, and documentation.

3. Skills & Competencies

• Strong knowledge of civil construction activities.
• Ability to read and interpret drawings.
• Leadership and team management skills.
• Good knowledge of quality and safety standards.
• Proficiency in MS Office, AutoCAD, and site management tools.
• Problem solving and decision-making abilities.

4. Qualification & Experience

• Education: Diploma / B.E / B.Tech – Civil Engineering
• Experience: Minimum 6–12 years in civil construction projects (residential, commercial, industrial, or infrastructure).
• Strong experience in site execution, finishing, and team handling.

5. Additional Requirements

• Willingness to work at project sites.
• Strong communication and coordination abilities.
• Knowledge of local building codes and construction practices.

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: ₹9,806.58 - ₹32,264.02 per month
