Roles and responsibilities:
- Lead the structural design and analysis of buildings and infrastructure projects.
- Perform load calculations and structural modeling using tools such as ETABS, STAAD Pro, and SAP2000.
- Ensure compliance with local and international codes (e.g., ACI, AISC).
- Review and approve structural drawings, material specifications, and design reports.
- Coordinate with architects, MEP engineers, contractors, and other stakeholders.
- Prepare project timelines, design schedules, and cost estimates for structural works.
- Supervise junior engineers and CAD technicians.
- Provide technical guidance during construction phases.
- Conduct site visits to inspect and ensure work aligns with design specifications.
- Resolve on-site structural challenges and recommend necessary design modifications.
- Oversee structural quality assurance and control procedures.
- Ensure safety regulations and engineering standards are upheld.
- Prepare detailed design documentation and calculation reports.
- Liaise with clients to understand project goals and expectations.
- Present structural design concepts and updates to clients and internal teams.
- Participate in design review meetings and technical discussions.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil or Structural Engineering.
- 8+ years of experience in structural engineering in the construction industry.
- Proficiency in structural analysis and modeling software (e.g., ETABS, STAAD, SAP2000, Revit, AutoCAD).
- Strong knowledge of international design codes and construction practices.
- Excellent communication, leadership, and project management skills.
