Sr. Transportation Staff Accountant

Welcome to Love's: This accounting position will have frequent interaction with the VP of Supply and Distribution, VP of Operations Strategic Initiatives, VP of Transportation, and other Senior Management. Responsible for providing support and analysis needed to help Gemini Operations successfully operate the business and execute at a high level. Perform monthly account reconciliations, month end accounting processes, produce weekly and monthly reports, and perform analysis as requested.

Job Functions:

• Play a critical role in Gemini’s driver productivity initiative by leading data collection, developing executive‑level reporting, analyzing performance trends, and delivering actionable recommendations to senior Gemini leadership and operations teams
• Prepare and distribute monthly net profit forecasts for Gemini to senior leadership, clearly explaining variances to budget and prior year results while highlighting key financial drivers and notable monthly events
• Continuously evaluate Gemini’s operational processes and procedures to identify improvement opportunities that drive cost efficiencies and positively impact overall operating performance
• Partner with the Gemini Operations team to develop annual operating budgets, collaborating with Financial Reporting to ensure timely and accurate integration into Anaplan
• Analyze Gemini capital expenditure and maintenance spending, identifying trends and recommending opportunities to improve capital efficiency and cost management
• Support Roserock Testing Lab financial operations, including reporting and billing, while collaborating closely with that leadership team
• Assist with month-end close
• Other projects and duties assigned as needed

Qualifications and Experience:

• Education:
  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance required
    • CPA preferred
  • Experience:
    • • 3+ years’ accounting experience, Fuel or Transportation experience preferred
      • SAP experience preferred
      • Tableau experience is a plus
• Skills:
• • Hard Skills: Knowledge of Microsoft Office, SAP, Tableau preferred
  • Soft Skills: Excellent written and oral communication skills with ability to communicate professionally to executive leadership, team player, exceptional customer service, attention to detail, self-motivated, good time management skills, and the ability to prioritize
