The Central Science Team within Amazon’s People Experience and Technology org (PXTCS) uses economics, behavioral science, statistics, and machine learning to proactively identify mechanisms and process improvements which simultaneously improve Amazon and the lives, well-being, and the value of work to Amazonians. We are an interdisciplinary team, which combines the talents of science, research, design and engineering to develop and deliver solutions that measurably achieve this goal.
Our team is looking for a UX Designer that is passionate about designing global products that are intuitive and bring value to people’s lives. You seek to empathize and understand your users needs, then translate those needs into specific experiences and designs. You thrive on informed iteration in order to design experiences that work at scale. You have an impeccable design sense, and a keen eye for detail and craft. Collaboration is in your DNA, but you aren’t afraid prioritize, make decisions and communicate with authority.

Key job responsibilities
Work closely with cross-functional teams and collaborate to define and produce solutions for real customer problems.
Support your design work using all available insights including quantitative data and site metrics, customer feedback, and usability findings.
Advocate for and follow user-centered design principles.
Develop conceptual diagrams, wireframes, detailed visual mockups and prototypes to communicate high-level design strategies and detailed interaction behaviors.
Responsibly and effectively advocate for the customer in a corporate environment; fostering a shared understanding of the customer-centric intersection between design, content, business and marketing values.
Present to business and design leadership.
Scope design initiatives and manage/prioritize work items.
