Sr.Accountant

Key Responsibilities1. Financial Accounting & Reporting

• Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
• Ensure compliance with IFRS / GAAP and local regulatory requirements.
• Manage general ledger, journal entries, accruals, and adjustments.
• Perform month-end and year-end closing activities.
• Reconcile bank statements, intercompany accounts, and balance sheet accounts.

2. Project & Cost Accounting (Construction / Oil & Gas / Power Plant)

• Monitor project budgets, track project costs, and analyze variances.
• Maintain Work-in-Progress (WIP) schedules.
• Handle percentage-of-completion accounting.
• Coordinate with project managers for cost forecasting and financial control.
• Manage subcontractor billing, retention accounting, and milestone payments.
• Oversee CAPEX accounting for plant & machinery.

3. Accounts Payable & Receivable

• Supervise vendor payments and customer billing processes.
• Review contract terms and ensure accurate invoicing.
• Monitor receivables and follow up on outstanding balances.

4. Taxation & Compliance

• Ensure compliance with VAT/GST, withholding tax, and other statutory requirements.
• Coordinate with auditors for internal and external audits.
• Prepare supporting documentation for audits.

5. Internal Controls & Process Improvement

• Implement and maintain internal financial controls.
• Ensure compliance with company policies and procedures.
• Assist in ERP implementation and financial system improvements (SAP / Oracle preferred).

6. Reporting & Analysis

• Prepare financial analysis reports for management.
• Conduct cost-benefit analysis and financial forecasting.
• Support budgeting and annual financial planning.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
• CA / CPA / ACCA (Preferred).
• 5–10 years of experience in Construction, Oil & Gas, or Power Plant industry.
• Strong knowledge of project accounting and cost control.
• Experience with ERP systems (SAP, Oracle, or similar).
• Advanced proficiency in MS Excel.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: QAR6,000.00 - QAR7,500.00 per month
