Staff Accountant

Position Overview:

This position supports the Finance team in carrying out the responsibilities of the Finance & Accounting Department. Provide management with financial information by researching, analyzing and reconciling accounts. Ensure company accounting procedures conform to Generally Accepted Accounting Principles.

Responsibilities may include but not limited to:

• Prepares general ledger journal entries, fixed asset tracking, monthly balance sheet reconciliation, and bank reconciliation.
• Develops, analyzes, and prepares periodic financial statements for timely distribution to management.
• Manage employee credit card charges and processing of expense reports.
• Process accounts payable and issue weekly ACH and check disbursements.
• Prepare and file state sales tax returns and issue payments as required by state law.
• Prepare and distribute 1099s to vendors.
• Meet deadlines required by management and outside sources.
• Keep the Finance managers informed of issues related to the accounting system.
• Assists with related special projects as required.
• Additional functions may be assigned as designated by the Finance managers.

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting is preferred.
• Must have attention to detail. Strong typing and 10-key skills required.
• Knowledge of finance and accounting principles including Generally Accepted Accounting Principles.
• Knowledge of automated financial and accounting reporting systems.
• Intermediate knowledge of Excel is strongly preferred.
• Strong organizational, problem-solving, and analytical skills; able to manage priorities and workflow.
• Ability to work independently and as a member of various teams and committees.
• Versatility, flexibility, and a willingness to work under changing priorities and with enthusiasm.
• Prior experience with SAP Business One is desirable but not required.
• Work requires professional written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills.

Work Environment:

• In-person office environment with some flexibility to work from home.
• Continually required to sit.
• While performing the duties of this job, the noise level in the work environment is usually quiet.
• Specific vision abilities required by this job include: close vision; distance vision; color vision; peripheral vision; depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
• No travel required.
