Staff Accountant

Description:

General Purpose

Perform accounting services to ensure efficient, timely and accurate processing of company business transactions and financial planning and reporting; assist CFO and senior management with special projects as required.

Essential Functions

• Prepare and file state tax returns; manage tax projects with outside accounting firm
• Process and approve employee expense statements
• Manage credit reference checks for new customers
• Assist with month-end closing process; bank reconciliation; budget preparation and analysis
• Prepare and complete statutory reporting for company’s truck fleet
• Process accounts payable weekly payments, working with the AP team.
• Cross-train and provide backup for Accounts Receivable, Accounts Payable and Material Receiving personnel
• Provide support to Controller, Chief Financial Officer for special projects
• Other duties as assigned.

Requirements:

Education and Experience

• Manufacturing experience preferred
• Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting and/or related fields
• Knowledge of GAAP/ accounting processes and procedures
• Strong knowledge of relevant accounting software (e.g. MS Office, Datacor ERP)
• A minimum of 3 years of applicable experience to include accounts receivable and accounts payable

Physical Demands and Work Environment:

• Occasionally required to climb, balance, bend, stoop, kneel or crawl.
• Frequently required to stand, walk, sit, utilize hand and finger dexterity, talk or hear.
• Occasionally works near moving mechanical parts.
• While performing the duties of this job, the noise level in the work environment is usually quiet; moderate.
• The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 10 pounds
• Specific vision abilities required by this job include: close vision; color vision; depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
