Position Overview
The Staff Accountant will oversee and manage the day-to-day accounting and financial operations for multiple entities with limited daily supervision. This role is ideal for a detail-oriented professional who is self-motivated, adaptable, and capable of balancing accounting responsibilities with operational and administrative support.
The position works closely with ownership, third-party accountants, vendors, and internal team members to ensure accurate financial reporting, efficient processes, and timely completion of all accounting functions.
Key Responsibilities
Accounting & Financial Operations
- Manage full-cycle Accounts Payable, including invoice entry, vendor maintenance, account reconciliations, and payment processing
- Manage full-cycle Accounts Receivable, including invoicing, collections, deposits, and account balance reconciliation
- Maintain general ledger accuracy, including journal entries, expense coding, reconciliations, and related-party transactions
- Assist with monthly and year-end close processes, reconciliations, accruals, and financial reporting support
- Coordinate with external accountants and CPAs for tax filings, compliance reporting, 1099s, sales tax, CAT tax filings, and year-end reporting
- Process payroll, including commission calculations, payroll review, and payroll administration through third-party software
- Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis
- Reconcile credit card statements, expenses, and vendor accounts
- Manage money market accounts, transfers, and payments
Property & Business Administration
- Support property management accounting functions, including lease setup, rent rolls, utility and tax bill-backs, tenant billing, and lease tracking
- Bill and track rent, utilities, and property-related payments
- Maintain vendor contracts, agreements, and service provider relationships
- Work closely with the inventory team to reconcile invoices and ensure timely payments
- Collaborate with ownership and external partners to improve processes and maintain operational efficiency
Administrative & Team Support
- Assist with HR-related administrative tasks such as PTO tracking, personnel records, workers’ compensation, unemployment claims, and payroll discrepancies
- Support daily office operations and general administrative functions as needed
- Maintain organized and accurate financial and operational records
- Contribute to a positive, team-oriented environment and assist with additional projects as needed
Qualifications
Education & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred
- 5+ years of accounting experience required
- Experience with multi-entity accounting and/or property management accounting preferred
- Strong working knowledge of QuickBooks Online and Microsoft Office Suite required
- Experience with ADP RUN and/or The Edge software is a plus

Pay: $60,000.00 - $75,000.00 per year
