We're seeking a highly motivated Staff Accountant to support the financial operations of a well-established commercial real estate organization in the Dallas-Fort Worth area. What You'll Do

• Manage full-cycle month-end close for an assigned commercial real estate portfolio

• Prepare and post journal entries, including accruals, reclasses, and prepaid amortizations

• Perform bank, loan, and intercompany reconciliations

• Maintain depreciation schedules and work-in-progress (WIP) tracking

• Review general ledger activity and perform variance analysis

• Ensure financial statements are accurate, complete, and delivered on time

• Partner with operations and asset management teams to resolve accounting discrepancies

• Support audit readiness and maintain strong financial controls

What We're Looking For

• 3+ years of property accounting experience (commercial real estate preferred)

• Hands-on experience managing month-end close independently

• Proficiency with Yardi Voyager (required)

• Strong understanding of journal entries, reconciliations, accruals, prepaids, and depreciation

• Experience with intercompany accounting and due-to/due-from transactions

• Intermediate Excel skills, including Pivot Tables and VLOOKUPs/XLOOKUPs

• Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving abilities

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience managing multiple properties or legal entities

• Ability to identify, investigate, and resolve accounting issues independently

• Strong attention to detail and sense of ownership

• Comfortable working in a deadline-driven environment
