Staff Accountant II, III - Property Accountant

Job Duties
Fundamentally strong in accounting and knowledge of U.S. GAAP.
Assists with various transactional processes and module interfaces for asset additions, retirements, transfers and adjustments.
Analyze and review month-end close activities for compliance with U.S. GAAP, discrepancies, coding errors and other issues that should be researched, and resolved or brought to management’s attention. Month-end close activities include preparation, upload, and posting of journal entries relating to leases, fixed assets and depreciation.
Evaluate and perform balance sheet account reconciliations and monthly roll forward schedules that are complete, accurate, and fully supported by appropriate evidence in compliance with U.S. GAAP and other accounting regulations. Any outstanding items/issues are researched and resolved in a timely manner.
Provides support in analyzing documents and reviewing for proper approvals and coding to open new capital projects. Monitor and manage work orders throughout the full project lifecycle to ensure timely project closure and accurate unitization of completed projects.
Perform testing of system implementations in area of responsibility.
Generates standard and non-standard reports and analysis.
Use professional judgement and expertise to perform complex estimates and calculations.
Collaborate with other members of the Plant Accounting team, other departments, or external auditors to complete deliverables and meet deadlines.
Provides regulatory activity support including FERC and/or Form 21 reporting, depreciation studies and rate cases.
Prioritize and complete other duties and responsibilities as assigned in a timely manner, while working well under pressure and adhering to strict deadlines.

Education and Experience:
Required:

  • BA/BS degree in Accounting and/or Finance
  • 3 - 10 years experience performing accounting activities

Skills:
Required:
Demonstrates working knowledge of U.S. GAAP
Ability to communicate effectively with those at various levels within the organization.
MS Excel, Word, and PowerPoint - intermediate proficiency
Strong analytical and judgment skills
Attention to detail and accuracy, including the ability to perform a thorough self-review
Time management and organization skills
Strong interpersonal skills

Requested:
Oracle General Ledger experience
PowerPlan Projects and Assets experience
Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or currently pursuing

Pay: $58,388.00 - $105,535.10 per year
