Now Hiring: Staff Development Specialist
Location: Reading, PA
Type: Part-time | 20-24 Per week
Pay: $23.00
FLSA: Non-Exempt
Summary of Position: The Staff Development Specialist provides initial orientation training, in conjunction with the Human Resources Department for all Crossroads Programs employees, and other Children’s Division affiliates as assigned. The Staff Development Specialist also is responsible for providing ongoing/refresher training to ensure compliance with regulatory bodies and internal requirements. Responsible for obtaining and maintain all training certifications as required.

Education/Experience:
High School Diploma, associate’s degree in human services or related field.
Experience serving in a training capacity.
Role Expectations:
One (1) time a month nighttime training from 5:00pm-9:30pm in the evenings. 9:00am-5:00pm on Saturday and Sunday
Three (3) days schedule weekly. Some morning and evenings based on training needs.
Travel included to training sites/ Mileage is reimbursed

Safe Crisis Management (SCM)
First Aid/CPR Instructor Certification
Trauma Training
Suicide Prevention
Cultural Awareness
Confidentiality/HIPAA
40 hours of annual training after initial year of employment (30 hours initial year)

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit; walk; use hands; reach with hands and arms; and talk or hear. The employee is occasionally required to climb or balance. The employee must normally exert up to 50 pounds of force and occasionally assist in lifting and/or moving up to 150 pounds.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Language Ability:
Ability to read, write and comprehend information. Ability to effectively communicate with employees and administration. Ability to professionally write detailed reports.
Reasoning Ability:
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed and sometimes involved written and oral directions. Ability to interpret routine instructions without difficulty. Ability to apply rational/calm reasoning when confronted with difficult and/or ambiguous situations.
Computer Skills:
To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of Microsoft Office applications and the Relias training system.
