Job Description

Enphase Energy is a global energy technology company seeking a Staff Engineer Mechanical DVT. This role involves leading Mechanical Engineering testing, including planning, performing, analyzing, and reporting on design verification. You will execute tests using in-house equipment and external labs, collaborating with global teams in China, New Zealand, and the USA. The role requires creating high-quality reports and clear communication to convey testing status and issue resolution. Responsibilities include contributing to new electromechanical product development with a focus on testing (60%) and design (40%), managing projects, designing test plans for mechanical performance, and preparing prototypes. You will also design parts for various manufacturing processes, work on connector designs and ECAD/MCAD integrations, and perform failure analysis.
Good To Have:
  • Experience with UL1741, UL9540, UL 9540A, UL 2743
  • Experience testing specific international standards (UL 6703, EN 60512, IEC 60529, etc.)
  • Exposure to electrical and electronic testing
  • Hands-on experience testing electromechanical products
  • Understanding of structural and thermal design
  • DFM, RCCA, Mold flow experience
  • Material selection knowledge
  • Experience in DFMEA
  • Experience in designing high-volume products
  • Previous experience in high-power and consumer products industries
Must Have:
  • Bachelor's or Master's in mechanical engineering
  • 10+ years (BE/BS) or 8+ years (Masters) of industry experience
  • Knowledge of design for manufacture (injection molding, sheet metal, etc.)
  • Hands-on prototype and test sample preparation
  • Exposure to UL/IEC standards
  • Experience with SolidWorks
  • Ability to plan and lead DVT tasks independently
  • Excellent oral, written, and interpersonal communication
